Short answer: yes. Follow Me makes the unit read the room temperature at the remote instead of at the indoor unit. To turn it on, press SET until the Follow Me icon flashes, then press OK.
Keep the remote where you spend time and out of direct sun or heat sources, otherwise the unit may stop too early or run too long. See also Why is my unit heating above or cooling below the set temperature? and Which remote does my unit use?
