Overview
If your indoor unit is beeping when attempting to connect to Alexa — or the connection fails entirely — the issue is often related to the USB dongle placement or setup process. Follow the steps below to resolve the problem and get connected successfully.
Important Notes Before You Start
- The Senville Alexa USB dongle does not work with the Senville app. It must be set up directly via the Amazon Alexa app.
- A beeping indoor unit during setup is typically caused by the dongle being improperly inserted.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
Step 1: Remove and Reinsert the USB Dongle
- Turn off the mini split unit using the remote control.
- Lift the front panel of the indoor unit to access the USB port.
- Carefully remove the USB dongle.
- Re-insert it firmly and fully into the USB port until it is fully seated. The flat side of the dongle should face outward.
Step 2: Check for Beeping
After reinserting the dongle:
- The beeping should stop after a few seconds if the dongle is inserted correctly.
- If the unit continues to beep, remove the dongle and try reinserting it again with a firm push — be sure it's not loose.
Step 3: Connect to the Alexa App
- Open the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone.
- Tap “Devices” → “+” → “Add Device”.
- Choose “Other” or “Smart Home Device” depending on your app version.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process.
Step 4: Confirm Successful Connection
- Your unit should stop beeping once the dongle is correctly inserted and paired.
- You should see the device appear in your Alexa app dashboard.
Still Not Working?
If your mini split continues to beep or does not appear in the Alexa app:
- Verify that your USB dongle is running the latest firmware version.
- If needed, reset the dongle to factory settings using a pin or paperclip (check your dongle manual for reset location).
- Reinstall your Alexa kit by removing the device from the app and repeating the setup steps.
