Error Code: EH C1 – Refrigerant Sensor Detects Leakage
What this means:
This error occurs when the refrigerant sensor detects a refrigerant concentration at or above one of two thresholds:
≥10% of LFL (Lower Flammability Limit) for at least 10 seconds
≥20% of LFL at any time
It can also be triggered in multi-zone systems when the outdoor unit sends a refrigerant leakage protection fault to all indoor unitsTS37.
Try this first (quick reset):
Turn off power to the system.
Wait 2 minutes.
Turn it back on and observe the display and any audible alarms.
If the error clears — monitor for recurrence.
If the error returns — proceed with leak inspection and repairs.
Next steps (for technicians):
Check for system blockages:
If blockages are found → clear them before restarting.
Check for refrigerant leakage:
If a leak is detected → repair the leak and recharge the system with refrigerant.
If no leak is found but error remains:
Reinspect the sensor wiring and control board communication for faults.
Multi-zone model behavior:
The indoor unit that detects leakage sounds a buzzer for up to 5 minutes.
Other indoor units will display ECC1 but remain silent.
Press any button (on remote, wall controller, or app) to silence the alarm.
What you might need:
Leak detection tools
Additional refrigerant
Wiring inspection tools
Helpful tip:
This error may show even when no physical leak is present, due to airflow obstruction, wiring fault, or sensor damage. Always inspect system conditions before clearing the fault.
