Error Code: EH C1 – Refrigerant Sensor Detects Leakage
What this means:
This error indicates that the refrigerant sensor has detected a refrigerant concentration above safety thresholds:
≥10% of LFL (Lower Flammability Limit) for 10 seconds, or
≥20% of LFL at any moment.
It may also be triggered if the outdoor unit sends a refrigerant leakage protection signal to the indoor unit.
Try this first (quick reset):
Turn off power to the unit completely.
Wait 2 full minutes.
Turn it back on and check if the error clears.
If the error clears — continue to monitor for recurrence.
If it returns — follow the steps below.
Next steps (for technicians):
Check for visible signs of refrigerant leakage.
If leak is found → repair it and recharge the system.
Check for system blockages.
If blockage is found → clear it, then retest.
If no blockage or leak is found but the error remains:
Inspect all connections and consider performing a leak detection test using proper equipment.
Exit conditions – The error will clear automatically if:
All connected indoor units report no refrigerant leakage for over 2.5 hours, or
You press and hold SW1 on the auxiliary PCB for 10 seconds, after confirming no leakage, or
EEPROM data flagged for leakage is reset after 2.5 hours of leak-free operation.
What you might need:
Leak detection kit
Additional refrigerant
Refrigerant recovery and charging tools
Access to auxiliary PCB (for SW1 reset)
Helpful tip:
Always verify that the leak has been fully repaired before recharging. Premature reset without solving the root cause may result in repeated shutdowns.
