Error Code: EH C2 – Refrigerant Sensor is Out of Range and Leakage is Detected

What this means:
This error occurs when the refrigerant sensor simultaneously detects:

  • A refrigerant concentration that exceeds 10% LFL for 10 seconds, or

  • A sudden spike to ≥20% LFL,
while also returning a sensor voltage that is out of normal range — indicating possible sensor malfunction or circuit faultTS37.

Try this first (quick reset):

  1. Turn off power to the unit.

  2. Wait 2 full minutes.

  3. Turn the unit back on and observe if the error clears.

  • If the error clears — the system resumes monitoring.

  • If the error returns — follow the steps below.

Next steps (for technicians):

  1. Check for system blockages:

    • Clear any blockages found before proceeding.

  2. Inspect for refrigerant leaks:

    • If a leak is found → repair and recharge refrigerant.

    • If no leak is found → inspect refrigerant sensor wiring and communication signal integrity.

Multi-zone behavior:

  • The indoor unit detecting the leak sounds a buzzer for 10 seconds to 5 minutes.

  • Other zones only display ECC1 without a buzzer.

  • Buzzer can be silenced with any key press (remote, app, or wall controller).

What you might need:

  • Leak detection tools

  • Refrigerant

  • Wiring repair tools

Helpful tip:
EH C2 combines sensor range failure and refrigerant leak detection. Even if a leak is present, the error also flags a possible sensor voltage issue — so don’t overlook signal testing.
