Error Code: PC 00 – Outdoor IPM Module Protection

What this means:
The outdoor unit’s IPM (Intelligent Power Module) has detected an abnormal voltage signal being sent to the compressor’s drive circuit. To prevent damage, the system shuts down and displays this error.

Try this first (quick reset):

1. Turn off power to the unit completely.

2. Wait 2 full minutes.

3. Turn the unit back on and check if the error clears.

• If the error disappears — the fault may have been temporary.

• If it remains — continue with the steps below.

Next steps (for technicians):

1. Check wiring between PCB and compressor:

   • Ensure all wires are connected securely and show no damage.

   • Replace or reconnect as needed.

2. Measure terminal resistance at the IPM board:

   • If resistance is not uniform, replace the IPM board or outdoor PCB.

3. Check outdoor fan operation and ventilation:

   • Ensure fan is spinning correctly and airflow is unobstructed.

   • If ventilation is poor, follow fan troubleshooting procedures.

4. Test compressor resistance:

   • If resistance values are abnormal or unbalanced → replace the compressor.

   • If resistance is normal and error remains → replace the outdoor PCB.

5. Inspect IPM installation:

   • Check for proper mounting.

   • Tighten screws and apply thermal grease to ensure good heat dissipation.
