EC / EL 0C - Error Code Diagnostic

Modified on Mon, 30 Sep at 1:44 PM

If error codes EC or EL 0C appear on your indoor unit, it indicates there’s a problem with the refrigeration system.

Diagnostic and Repair Process:

1. Initial Reset:

  • Turn off the power to the unit.
  • Wait for 15 minutes, then turn the power back on to restart the unit.

2. Airflow Check:

  • Place your hand in front of the indoor air outlet.

  • If you feel cool or warm air:

    • Check if the T2 sensor is loose. If it is, make sure the connections are secure.

    • If T2 is secure, check if the T1 sensor is too close to the evaporator. If it is, reposition it to the correct distance.

  • If no air is detected, check for system leaks.

3. Leak Inspection:

  • Carefully check the system for any refrigerant leaks.

  • If leaks are found, repair the leak points and recharge the refrigerant.

  • If no leaks are detected, proceed with a pressure check.

4. Pressure Check:

  • Attach pressure gauges to the low-side service port of the outdoor unit.

  • Compare the pressure readings to the manufacturer's specifications for the current ambient temperature.

  • If the pressure is low, add refrigerant (approximately 10% of the nameplate charge).

  • If the pressure is within the normal range, proceed to the next step.

5. PCB Replacement:

  • If all the previous steps do not resolve the issue, proceed to replace the indoor PCB.

This process also includes an important step to verify refrigerant levels using pressure measurements, ensuring optimal performance.
