Error Code: PC 01 – Outdoor Voltage Protection
What this means:
The outdoor unit has detected an abnormal voltage — either too high or too low — through its voltage detection circuit. To prevent damage, the system stops operating until the issue is resolved.
Try this first (quick reset):
Turn off the power to the unit.
Wait 2 minutes.
Turn the power back on and check if the error clears.
If the error clears — the voltage may have stabilized.
If it returns — begin the voltage and component checks below.
Next steps (for technicians):
Check the power supply:
Is voltage within normal operating range?
If not → shut off unit and repair the power source.
Inspect power cables and connections:
If wires are damaged or loose → repair or replace.
Measure voltage between P and N terminals:
In standby, DC voltage should be approximately 310V, 340V, or 380V.
During startup, AC voltage should range between 220V–400V.
If not → replace the IPM module board.
Check the reactor (inductance coil):
If faulty → replace the reactor.
If reactor is normal but issue persists → replace the outdoor PCB.
What you might need:
Power supply wires
IPM module board
Reactor
Outdoor PCB
Helpful tip:
This error is common when power supply is unstable or undersized. Before replacing components, always test and confirm both AC input and DC output voltages.
