What is SEER2?

Modified on Thu, 8 Oct at 1:50 PM

Short answer: SEER2 (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2) measures how efficiently an air conditioner or heat pump cools over a full season. The higher the SEER2 number, the less electricity the unit uses to cool your home.

How it is calculated

SEER2 is the total heat removed from your home during the cooling season (in BTUs), divided by the electricity the unit uses over the same period (in watt-hours).

You can find the SEER2 rating for each Senville model on its product page under "Technical Specifications".
