Error Code: EC C1 – Other Indoor Unit Detected Refrigerant Leak (Multi-Zone)
Applies to LETO and AURA Series

What this means:
In multi-zone systems, this code means another indoor unit (not the one you're checking) has detected a refrigerant leak. Your unit will display EC C1, but it may not sound an alarm. Only the zone that detects the leak will trigger the buzzer.

Try this first (easy fix):

  1. Turn off power to all indoor units completely.

  2. Wait 2 full minutes.

  3. Turn everything back on and check the display.

  • If the EC C1 code clears — the alert may have been temporary.

  • If it returns — another zone has likely detected a leak.

Next steps (for technicians):

  • Identify the specific indoor unit that triggered the refrigerant leak error (check which one is sounding the alarm).

  • Check the system for visible leaks.

  • Repair any leaks found and recharge the refrigerant.

  • If no leaks are found, inspect for system blockages.

What you might need:

  • Additional refrigerant

  • Leak detection tools

  • Repair materials for copper lines

  • Vacuum pump and gauges (for recharge)

Helpful tip:
This is a shared error alert across connected indoor units. If you're only seeing EC C1 with no alarm, another unit is doing the actual leak detection. Make sure to check all zones.
