Error Code: PC A1 – Condensation Protection of Refrigerant Pipe

What this means:
This error is triggered when the temperature detected by the T4 or T5 sensor stays above a critical value for a certain period, indicating a potential risk of condensation or overheating around the refrigerant pipe.

Try this first (quick reset):

  1. Turn off the unit and allow it to cool for several minutes.

  2. Restart the system and observe if the error returns.

  • If it clears — monitor the system.

  • If it returns — begin sensor and component checks.

Next steps (for technicians):

  1. Compare actual sensor temperature readings to real values:

    • Use a thermometer to measure at the T4 (ambient) and T5 (discharge) sensor positions.

    • Use the “point check” function on the indoor unit to compare values.

  2. If there is a large deviation between sensor and actual reading:

    • Check the wiring between sensor and PCB.

    • Measure resistance of the sensor.

    • If out of spec → replace the T4 or T5 sensor.

  3. If the sensors are accurate:

    • Check for abnormal temperature difference at the inlet and outlet of the main electronic expansion valve (EXV).

    • If so → replace the main EXV.

  4. If problem persists after replacing sensors and EXV:

    • Replace the outdoor PCB.

  5. Environmental check:

    • Is the T4 sensor exposed to direct sunlight? Shield it if necessary.

What you might need:

  • T4 sensor (ambient)

  • T5 sensor (discharge)

  • Main electronic expansion valve (EXV)

  • Outdoor PCB

  • Thermometer

  • Multimeter

Helpful tip:
Sensor misalignment or exposure to heat sources (like direct sun) can trigger this error falsely. Always validate sensor readings against real-world measurements before replacing hardware.
