Error Code: EC 54 – Compressor Discharge Temperature Sensor (TP) Error
What this means:
The TP sensor, which measures the compressor’s discharge temperature, is reporting an abnormal voltage. If its sampling voltage is below 0.06V or above 4.94V, it’s considered faulty. This can happen due to a short circuit, open circuit, or sensor failureTS23.
Try this first (quick reset):
Turn off power to the unit.
Wait 2 full minutes.
Turn the unit back on and check if the error clears.
If the error clears — the issue may have been temporary.
If the error remains — proceed with the steps below.
Next steps (for technicians):
Check the sensor wiring:
Ensure the TP sensor is properly connected to the outdoor PCB.
If loose or damaged → repair or replace the connection wires.
Measure the resistance of the TP sensor:
If the resistance is not within acceptable range → replace the TP sensor.
If the resistance is normal but the error remains → replace the outdoor PCB.
What you might need:
TP (compressor discharge) temperature sensor
Outdoor PCB
Connection wires
Helpful tip:
This fault shares the same diagnostic procedure as EC 52 and EC 53. If your model uses a combo sensor for T3, T4, and TP, you may need to replace the entire unit.
