PC 08 - Error Code Diagnostic

Modified on Wed, 2 Oct at 11:46 AM

If the error code PC 08 appear on your indoor unit, it indicates there's an unusual increase in current detected.

Diagnostic and Repair Process:

  1. Check Power Voltage:

    • If it's abnormal, restart the unit once the power is normal.
    • If normal, check the outdoor terminal voltage.
  2. For 220V Systems:

    • Check the voltage between L1 and L2.
    • If it's abnormal, reconnect L1 and L2 properly.
    • If normal, check the current.
  3. For 110V Systems:

    • Check the voltage between L and N.
    • If abnormal, reconnect L and N properly.
    • If normal, check the current.
  4. Assess Current:

    • If normal, replace the outdoor main PCB.
    • If abnormal, turn on the unit and measure the voltage between P and N.
  5. Check Voltage on Standby:

    • For 220V systems, it should be around 220V DC.
    • If incorrect, check the reactor wiring and reconnect if needed.
  6. Check Outdoor Ambient Temperature:

    • If it's over 50°C, stop the unit.
    • If not, check the reactor and inductance.
  7. Assess Outdoor Unit Ventilation:

    • Ensure it’s functioning properly.
  8. Check Outdoor Fan Operation:

    • If there are issues, refer to the "fan speed operating outside of the normal range" solution (F5 / EC 07).
  9. Inspect Heat Exchanger:

    • Clean it if it’s dirty.
  10. If Problems Persist:

    • Replace the outdoor main board.
  11. Check System Pressure:

    • If it's too high, recycle the overcharged refrigerant.
  12. Final Check:

    • Ensure the refrigerant system is running normally.

This process systematically checks various aspects to identify and resolve the issue.
