Error Code: PC 0A – High Temperature Protection of Condenser

What this means:
The outdoor unit has detected that the condenser (outdoor coil) temperature has exceeded 65°C, which is above the safe limit. The system shuts down to protect internal components and will only restart once the temperature drops below 52°C.

Try this first (quick reset):

  1. Turn off power to the unit completely.

  2. Wait 2 full minutes.

  3. Turn it back on and check if the error clears.

  • If the error clears — it may have been triggered by temporary heat buildup.

  • If the error remains — continue with the checks below.

Next steps (for technicians):

  1. Measure condenser temperature:

    • If above 65°C → proceed with diagnosis.

    • If not, check sensor or control signal.

  2. Test the condenser temperature sensor:

    • Measure resistance.

    • If abnormal → replace the temperature sensor.

  3. Check sensor wiring to PCB:

    • Ensure connection is clean, secure, and not damaged.

    • If loose or faulty → correct the connection.

  4. Verify ambient conditions and ventilation:

    • If ambient temperature is over 50°C (or 54°C in tropical models), wait or improve ventilation.

    • Ensure outdoor fan is running and airflow is unobstructed.

    • Clean the heat exchanger if dirty.

  5. Check refrigerant system:

    • If refrigerant is low → recharge to correct level.

    • If pressure is normal and all other steps pass → replace the outdoor PCB.

What you might need:

  • Condenser temperature sensor

  • Outdoor fan

  • Outdoor PCB

  • Refrigerant

  • Connection wires

Helpful tip:
This error is often triggered by poor airflow, high ambient temperature, or a failing sensor. Always inspect fan operation and heat exchanger cleanliness before replacing components.
