Error Code: PC 0F – PFC Module Protection

What this means:
The system’s Power Factor Correction (PFC) circuit has detected an abnormal condition. Specifically, the outdoor PCB has identified either:

  • A low PFC signal voltage, or

  • A DC bus voltage below 340V for more than 6 seconds during startup quick checkTS27.

Try this first (quick reset):

  1. Power off the unit.

  2. Wait 2 minutes.

  3. Turn the unit back on and check if the error clears.

  • If the error clears — it may have been a temporary voltage dip.

  • If it returns — continue with the diagnostic steps below.

Next steps (for technicians):

  1. Check the connection between the PFC module and main board:

    • If loose → reconnect tightly and test.

    • If connection is secure → proceed to voltage measurement.

  2. Measure the DC voltage between P and N terminals:

    • If voltage is abnormal → refer to your service manual's Appendix for expected ranges.

  3. Check the inductance (choke coil) of the PFC module:

    • Measure resistance between the two inductance ports.

    • If not close to 0 ohms → replace the inductance coil.

    • If resistance is normal → replace the PFC module.

  4. If problem persists after the above:

    • Replace the outdoor main PCB.

What you might need:

  • PFC module

  • Inductance coil

  • Outdoor PCB

  • Connection wires

Helpful tip:
PC 0F errors are usually tied to loose wiring, bad inductance, or aging PFC circuits. Always check physical connections before swapping components.
