Error Code: PC 06 – Discharge Temperature Protection of Compressor

What this means:
The compressor discharge temperature has exceeded the safe limit — 115°C for R410A systems or 108°C for R32 systems — for more than 9 seconds. To prevent compressor damage, the system shuts down and displays this error.

Try this first (quick reset):

  1. Turn off the unit completely.

  2. Wait 2 full minutes.

  3. Turn it back on and check the display.

  • If the error clears — the issue may have been temporary.

  • If the error returns — follow the steps below.

Next steps (for technicians):

  1. Check wiring connection of the discharge sensor:

    • Confirm the temperature sensor is connected correctly to the PCB based on the wiring diagram.

    • If the connection is faulty → correct the wiring.

  2. Measure discharge temperature:

    • If the temperature is above threshold (115°C R410A / 108°C R32) → continue diagnosis.

  3. Check for refrigerant leakage:

    • If refrigerant is leaking → repair the leak and recharge the system.

    • If the high-pressure valve assembly is faulty → replace it.

  4. Test sensor resistance:

    • If the resistance value is abnormal → replace the discharge temperature sensor.

    • If sensor resistance is normal and error persists → replace the outdoor main PCB.

What you might need:

  • Discharge temperature sensor

  • Outdoor main PCB

  • Additional refrigerant

  • High-pressure valve assembly

  • Connection wires

Helpful tip:
Some systems use a combination sensor where TP (discharge), T3, and T4 are housed together. Always confirm your model’s sensor type before replacing. Overheating is often tied to refrigerant issues or blocked airflow.
