Error Code: EC 07 – Outdoor Fan Speed Out of Control
What this means:
The outdoor fan is running at a speed that’s outside the normal range — either too fast or too slow — for an extended time. This can be caused by a faulty fan motor, wiring issue, or a problem with the outdoor PCB. When this happens, the system shuts down to prevent damage.
Try this first (quick reset):
Turn off power to the unit completely.
Wait 2 full minutes.
Turn it back on and check the display.
If the error clears — the system is back to normal.
If the error returns — follow the steps below.
Next steps (for technicians):
Manual check:
With power off, rotate the fan by hand.
If it doesn't spin freely → inspect for debris, mechanical blockage, or worn bearings.
Check fan motor wiring:
Confirm all connections are secure and correctly placed.
Fix or replace any loose or damaged wires.
Measure voltage from the outdoor PCB to the fan motor:
For DC fans:
Pin 1 to Pin 3: 192V–380V
Pin 4 to Pin 3: 13.5–16.5V
Pin 5 (Vsp): 0–6.5V
If readings are incorrect → replace the outdoor PCB.
Check resistance (for motors with UVW wires):
U–V, U–W, V–W should show equal resistance.
If resistance values are off → replace the fan motor.
What you might need:
Fan motor
Outdoor fan assembly
Outdoor PCB
Connection wires
Helpful tip:
Abnormal fan speed is often caused by motor failure or blocked airflow. Always start with a manual spin test and voltage check before replacing the board.
