Error Code: EC 07 – Outdoor Fan Speed Out of Control
What this means:
The outdoor fan is spinning too fast or too slow for a consistent period. When its speed operates outside the expected range, the unit shuts down to prevent damage to the system. This can be caused by a faulty fan motor, damaged wiring, or a failing outdoor PCB.
Try this first (quick reset):
Turn off power to the unit completely.
Wait 2 full minutes.
Turn it back on and check if the error clears.
If the error clears — it may have been temporary.
If the error returns — continue with the steps below.
Next steps (for technicians):
Manually rotate the outdoor fan (power off):
If it does not spin freely → check for physical blockages or motor failure.
Check fan motor wiring:
Inspect all connections to the fan motor.
If wiring is incorrect or damaged → repair or rewire.
Measure voltage from the PCB to the fan motor:
Pin 1 (Red) to Pin 3 (Black): 192V–380V
Pin 4 (White) to Pin 3 (Black): 13.5–16.5V
Pin 5 (Yellow – Vsp): 0–6.5V
If voltages are outside this range → replace the outdoor main PCB.
If fan uses UVW terminals (motor chip is in PCB):
Measure resistance of U–V, U–W, and V–W.
If values are not equal → replace the fan motor.
If resistance is normal but error persists → replace the PCB.
What you might need:
Outdoor fan motor
Outdoor fan assembly
Outdoor PCB
Connection wires
Helpful tip:
Always check fan resistance and voltage before replacing major components. Many EC 07 faults come from simple wiring or debris-related issues.
